About Me:
Hello, and welcome to my sound production portfolio. My name is Darroch Nicol, I have been working on many different projects during my year at NCL Coatbridge, studying HNC Sound Production. And withing this website, I will be presenting 3 of my proudest pieces. I am an aspiring / beginner sound engineer who is currently finding his way in the audio world.

Recording and mix of Psychedelic Progressive Metals band, io's song "I".
Hellraiser post production project.
Daw track made in Ableton.
This project encompasses my knowledge of recording in a live sound environment and my overall mixing abilities. It also shows my comfortability within Ableton and Pro-Tools workspace, as well as my tasteful use of digital effects, mixing techniques, microphone placement styles and my ability to work alongside artists.
This artefact was created using Ableton and shows my ability to sequence and edit sounds for a video, It shows my knowledge and accuracy of soundscapes, and my use different sound effects that accurately fit what is happening within the context of the scene.
This track is a great example of my extensive knowledge within the Ableton workspace. It also greatly displays my sample work and structuring of songs. As well as my mixing abilities. It was also one of the first electronic songs I had ever made in any DAW, so this track in particular was a massive turning point, and all around lesson to me in general.
